You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity 2 Corinthians 9. 11

Stewardship is the word we use to describe how each of us supports and sustains God’s work in this Parish by the gifts we offer and share.

Recently at St Marylebone we have been thinking about the spiritual and theological context of stewardship – how God is abundant in His generous giving and how in Jesus Christ He shares His life and gives to the uttermost.  We have also had an honest conversation about the financial situation of the Parish.

It is clear from the picture that emerges that because we are a busy and dynamic parish reaching out to all sections of the local community and beyond, our expenditure is rising.  Funding our vibrant Young Church, the Nigerian Chaplaincy, our excellent Choir and the renowned Healing and Counselling Centre means a significant financial commitment.  At present the income we receive from the congregation is proportionately very small.  The graph gives you some idea of this.

We need to address this problem, so I invite you to think carefully and prayerfully about how you can support God’s work in this Parish, and I encourage you to think about joining our Stewardship Scheme.

This is very easy.  Simply download the Standing Order Form and complete it with your details and the amount you feel you can gift to support God’s work in this Parish. Also download and complete a Gift Aid Declaration FormThis will allow us to claim and extra 28% on top of your gift.  A Standing Order ensures that your support for the parish continues even if you have to be away from London, as many members of our parish family are.  It is a much more efficient and effective way of supporting God’s work here.

Once you have completed the two forms please return them to Fr. Paul Thomas, St Marylebone Parish Church, London NW1 5LT and we will process them on your behalf.  The information you give us will be kept secure.

Your gift will enable this parish to develop and grow its work in serving the local community and maintain the building that houses these many activities.  Please think carefully and prayerfully about how you can play your part in supporting God’s work in this parish.
