Friends Of St Marylebone

2006-2007 is a year of jubilee for the Friends of St. Marylebone.  Established 50 years ago, the Friends was formed to raise money to maintain and enhance the fabric of one of London's most magnificent parish churches.  However, since its inception the Friends has broadened its work.  Today there are four strands to our activities:

Annual Lecture  Speakers address areas of specific interest to our parish. Past speakers have included the Very Revd Michael Maine on the Church's Ministry of Healing, and the Nigerian High Commissioner on the Nigerian Community in London.

AGM Every year the Friends hold its Annual General Meeting to review its work.  Members enjoy tea together.

Visit Every year there is an annual visit to a place of interest in London.  Previous visits have included the Whitechapel Bell Foundry followed by a curry in the famous Brick Lane, and the Royal Artillery Museum in Woolwich.

Magazine Every few months the Friends produces a magazine called 'Now & Then'.  It draws together a lot of news and views from around the parish as well as interesting articles on our long and rich history.  Many people who have worshipped at St Marylebone and who have now moved away find the magazine very helpful in keeping in touch with us.
