Music is central to the worshipping life of St Marylebone. The Church has a fine musical tradition, drawing on its 10-voice professional choir, four manual Rieger organ and the skills of the Assistant Director of Music, Gavin Roberts and the Organist and Director of Music, Steven Grahl. During the Sunday morning Eucharist there is a splendid sung setting of the Mass with the liturgy being further enhanced by a Gradual Anthem and Communion Motet. The organ contributes to the worship in accompaniment of the choir and in the playing of organ voluntaries. The choir sing at the monthly Healing service and for Carol Services at the beginning of Advent and at Christmas and Epiphany.

The church’s musicians also regularly sing and play at Weddings and Memorial Services along with other events both within the church and more widely. There is a vibrant programme of concerts taking place in the church, including the termly Sunday series ‘Music after Mass’ and evening recitals. The Church’s close link with the Royal Academy of Music means that a number of Academy events take place at St Marylebone in addition to the regular use of the building for concerts given by outside groups.
